New Server
Sunday, September 9th, 2007If you have been paying attention to the “News” area in the members area, you probably already know that TPM Rotator has been moved to a new server. This was necessary because we outgrew our last server and the site was beginning to run very slowly.
The specs of the previous server were:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
1GB RAM
80 GB Hard Drive
10MB Uplink
The specs of the new server are:
Intel Xeon Conroe 3060 (Dual core 2.4 GHz)
2GB RAM
136GB SCSI (10k RPM) Hard Drive
100MB Uplink
Also important to note is TPM Rotator is the only website hosted on the new server, which means there will be no other sites competing for resources. The new server should be able to handle TPM Rotator’s load for the forseeable future. Should the need arise, we will be able to upgrade the server again in a 48hr timeframe. I will provide updates regularly about how the server is handling current load and if the server needs to be upgraded.
